The compact SUV market keeps growing form strength to strength and one of the ways you can see that is through car manufacturers creating vehicles that quench consumer’s thirst.
A compact SUV is basically the mini me version of the full 4×4 SUV and if you told me a couple of years back that people will flocking to by little SUVs, I would burst into laughter but clearly the people have spoken and Volvo gladly obliged.
The Volvo XC40 is a premium compact SUV and according to Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Design Officer at Volvo Cars “We wanted the XC40 to be a fresh, creative and distinctive member of the Volvo line-up, allowing its drivers to put their personality in their driveway. XC40 drivers are interested in fashion, design and popular culture, and often live in large, vibrant cities. They want a car that reflects their personality. The XC40 is that car,”
I can already see this car parked outside an art gallery or even the vibrant market culture in Braamfontein on a Saturday morning. It’s going to be very interesting to see what it looks like when it finally gets launched later this and released for sales in South Africa, in 2018.
P.S The pics were sent to me by Volvo, they are little teasers of what the Whip will look like and inspired by.
