It does not come cheap though at a recommended retail price of $108,235 (plus on-road costs), the Bus 4×4 conversion kit takes the regular HiAce Commuter and then adds full-time high range and low range 4×4, 180mm lift and modified independent front and rear suspension.

The kit also comprises a rear diff locker, choice of standard or upgraded wheels and tyres and wheel arch bullet moulding for added protection. There’s also the option of front protection rails and rock sliders for an added cost.

“This enables the vehicle to have better ground clearance with greater traction and control, no matter what the road conditions, giving it far greater ability to comfortably and safely get your work done,” the company says.

The Bus 4×4 AWD Conversion Kit suits the entire Hiace range, including the long-wheelbase crew van, SLWB Commuter, SLWB 12-seat Commuter and Granvia.
