It was in the year 2007 when the folks at Mini presented a drop-top Mini Cooper version called the Sidewalk.

For the 2020 model year, the British marque has revived the icon. Visually, it packs a host of exclusive items such as the new Deep Laguna metallic exterior colour, special hood stripes with a contrasting colour on the edges, Sidewalk badging on the fender vents, and naturally, there’s a Sidewalk-specific set of 17-inch scissor-spoke wheels with a two-tone finish.

The roof cloth is adorned with silver arrow graphics woven into the fabric.

Inside, the Mini Sidewalk gets yellow and blue contrasting trim while the door sills get brushed aluminium plates with sidewalk branding.

Standard-issue LED headlights, fog lights, interior light package, automatic air conditioning, and Mini Driving Modes are also part of the Sidewalk treatment.

The new MINI Convertible Sidewalk comes with two petrol engines, a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine which produces 100 kW of power and a 2.0-litre four-pot unit with 141 kW is found under the S version.

All engines are combined with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard.

Alternatively, the new MINI Cooper S Convertible Sidewalk can also be equipped with a 7-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with double clutch.
